Really easy, but not the 1st method I wanted to use. Originally I wanted to use nuts and bolts to secure the vault, which I still may do in the future. Unfortunately when I removed the center console there wasn't much clearance/room to easily use bolts. So plan B.
The Gunvault can be picked up ay Optics Planet for $100. Its made of nice material and has a nice combo configuration. Only has 2 holes to mount so I drilled a 3rd. They are 1/4 inch holes.
The Vault fits perfectly inside the console but it has to be pushed down all the way when screwed in. If the vault door is open all the way it will push the front up and the console lid wont lock. The vault door will still open enough to get your gun or valuables out when mounted all the way down.
Line up the holes and mark them. Drill the holes out smaller than 1/4 inch, then screw it in place. Being its plastic you cant tighten them snug (hence why bolts were my 1st choice) but it will be enough to keep it in place good and a thief will have a tough time ripping it out. Incase it does get removed there is a cable that you attach to the safe & somewhere else. I haven't secured the cable yet but I will probably secure it to one of the seat bolts.
Im happy now I have a place to transport my gun securely and a built in safe for valuables.
