Hey guys, i've been looking around on the forum and trying to find a good install guide for the factory backup cam. But i'm finding instructions with the jeepguy's adapter. Does anyone have the instructions on how to do the install? I haven't purchased the kit yet.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you sir! I saw your original post, but none of the links worked. What is the adapter from jeepguy exactly? I'm trying to make everything as easy as possible to install this myself. Thanks again!

Good luck with the install Sir .
It's a pretty staight fwd install a 4 out of 10 imo if your a DIYer .
If you have questions post them here , several here have installed this kit .
The most difficult part of the install may be getting the dealer to Flash the XAC Sales Code . Some dealers are very reluctant to do so because by doing so they are accepting liability of the install and the Back up cam becomes covered on your warranty at that point . My dealer wanted to inspect the complete installation prior to flashing the XAC sales code , I of course agreed to this inspection . They didn't inspect anything at all and the flash took 7 minutes start to finish . They wer gonna charge me an hour of labor $90.00 I asked to talk to the SVC mgr ( this guy was clueless ) I told him the tech spent less than 10 minutes on my truck and $90.00 was Rediclous! I told him I purchased the overpriced kit from his parts guy ( I did not btw ) he let me go free of charge ... it was the first time he had ever been involved with a customer installing the kit themselves , he was very impressed and admitted to me he never thought it would work LOL !
Mind you this guy was clueless and I doubt he could even change his own oil ...

Good luck to you Sir and remember if you have any Qs post them here !

I am not familiar with the post you are referencing about the adapter. Can you link it?

I know this : the OEM BACKUP CAMERA ADD ON KIT P/N 82214240 is nice , complete , easy to install and competitively priced imo due to the fact it works perfectly with you 2013 ,14, 15 &16 year model Rams can bus style electical system allowing for movable active gridlines to project your estimated trajectory in the mirror or radio while backing up ... No aftermarket kit can say that ....!

Another backup Cam question already? These are rolling off the assembly line tonight!

FYI,
See Cptwing's Installing oem Backup Camera thread post 10 and his OP as linked by RLK above.

My Post 10 (in addition to the op) details the useful links, and install directions as well as a schematic i made to use with the kits directions. This will help you out a lot.

We need to get cptwing's thread a sticky.

Edit: submitted.

It puts and keeps the thread at the top of the section it's in. So you'd go to say 4th gen DIY and you'd always see backup camera install at the top. But if you don't look in that section you wouldn't see it. I don't know if and how much people look before posting a question. If you are new or not on much it may seem like a new idea or question. Every once in a while I'll see someone post an idea thinking they are the first to think of it or ask about it but had been covered a year ago.
