Instrument Cluster not reading fuel level

Hi all
I have a 2016 Ram 1500
I recently had a front end collision at about 4mph and the truck threw a code for the fuel gage and has read completely empty ever since.
I had a continuity test done and the wiring is all working and I did not detect any shorts.
The reading directly from the fuel pump shows it is reading the fuel level and gives me a fairly accurate reading in % of the fuel level if i have done my math on mpg vs last fill up right, but at the instrument cluster I am still showing the code and the dead empty warning on the dash.
I am at the point where I may have to throw in the towel and pay to have a dealership trouble shoot it or try to swap the instrument cluster myself (just would need to buy it somewhere where they can program the miles on the truck), but I wanted to check first and see if anyone could think of anything else to look at or test before that.

Even though the continuity test showed everything to be good i also may pull the bed of the truck and check the connections manually as well

Could be a problem with fuel sending unit which is part of the fuel pump.

P0463 Fuel level sensor 1 circuit high
I can get in and read the fuel level with my code reader directly and it gives me a reading of the fuel level which seems accurate.

The dealership just called and they say its the fuel pump module that has gone bad. They want 1875 dollars to replace the entire fuel pump assembly

Wow.... Ill do it for half of that... Its a $100 part and can be done in about 1-2 hrs

My truck started doing this and I got the part from Rock Auto for about $100 just havent done it because as long as I keep it above 1/2 tank it reads just fine. Its cold outside so im putting it off.

Hey KyleJ198 what code reader are you using to be able to read the actual fuel level I'm kinda in the same boat same code p0463. Thanks.

I had mine replaced on my 2016 a year and half ago, it was 750 or 800, 1000 more is a ripoff

Ancel FX2000 is the code reader i have. Its a lot beefier than most, and can read the ABS module as well as the OBD2

2009 dodge ram 1500 5.7, fuel gauge reading empty at instrument panel, check engine light and low fuel warning. Tested sending unit and wiring from tank to BCM connection plug. No problem found. Can someone steer me in the right direction here? Thank you.

Hold on a second, you said in an earlier post that your scanner could see the fuel level, and it seemed accurate. That indicates the BCM is successfully reading the fuel pump sensor. Either your dealer is making an assumption, or your scanner is giving you false data. I would find out the truth before opening the wallet.
