Instrument cluster upgrade question

Hello all, my name is Jack and new to the forum. I have a question that maybe some of y’all can help. I have a 2009 ram 1500 base model with the cheap evic display and found a higher end one for sale around me from a 2015. I was wondering if it would work with my truck. Any info helps.

Yours is a gen 3 and the 15 is gen 4.

No I have a 4 th gen, 4th gen runs from 2009-2018 on 1500s and 2010-2019 on the 2500-3500s

2009 was the first year of the 4th Gen 1500 BUT.........the “premium” cluster in the early 4th gens was different, well, looked different. I would assume the one out of the 15 would work........they didn’t completely redesign the dash.

A 13+ cluster won't work on a 09-12 truck. Wiring is different between those year groups

Yeah, hopefully. I think I’m just going to meet up with the guy and plug it in and see if it does.

Also the 09-12 clusters have 2 connectors whereas the 13+ only have 1

Thanks for the help, not going to work. As stated before, the 2009 has two plugs and the 2015 has one. Thanks for your help
