Well The 2 biggest intakes for these trucks that everybody has been talking about is #1 the Vararam CAI also #2 the S&B CAI closed box
The Vararam Has Better Reviews For Performance Wise
The S&B has great reviews as well if I was you I would look into these 2
And see what suits you best I'm running the Vararam and I am Extramly happy with it not only performance wise but looks wise

Talk to Matt at Moes performance
His name on here is Hemi450HP
He is Extremely knowledgeable on these trucks
And really great priced on his Products

Welcome to RamForum and congrats on the new truck. Like mentioned above, your 2 big performers when it comes to intakes are the Vararam and the S&B. The Vararam will show better numbers at the track because it is a true ram air kit, while the S&B is a close 2nd with its closed airbox design. You can see both kits at the links below...

Vararam Air Grabber Intake 2009-2013 Dodge Ram 5.7L Hemi

S&B Cold Air Intake 09-13 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi - Cleanable Filter

Also, how about a pic of the truck and Camaro? You have to be pushing low 11's in that car at 500hp.

what HP increase does the S&B intake give? I see the K&N says 15hp, i dont see anyone suggesting the K&N

K&N is just a noisemaker, and they don't even have a 2013 application yet. We have actually had at least 25-30 customers that replaced their K&N intakes with either a Vararam or an S&B.

Also, I would be hesitant to believe any intake manufacturers claimed hp numbers. Vararam claims 30hp. but you will never se that number on a dyno. It is designed to force air into the motor as you drive, so the faster you drive, the more air is being forced into the motor, and the more power it makes. You cant simulate that effect on a dyno, so it will never show close to a 30hp gain. Now if you take it to the dragstrip, it is normal to drop .3 off your 1/4 mile time which does equate to about a 30hp increase.

We have sold hundreds of all of these intakes, and the S&B and Vararam are hands down the 2 best when it comes to performance and quality.

The optional air scoop fits fine, but the AC line bracket touches the top of the airbox. The easy fix is to just slightly bend the bracket about 1/2" so that it lines up with the mounting hole in the fender.

We have not been able to figure out where the inconsistency is in the builds though because not everyone has to modify that bracket. Many kits install fine without any issue.

Correct. Ram changed the routing of the AC lines on the 2013's, and that AC line bracket is what is making contact with the airbox on a few of the trucks.

Through the neck that comes up from the throttle body, just line up the hole and your MAF slides right in.

That is not a Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, it is an Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor. Huge difference in purpose. All it does is tell the ECM what temp air you're sucking.

Like Casper said, these trucks actually don't have a MAF sensor. The IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor plugs into the red coupler that connects the filter tray to your throttle body. The coupler already has the hole drilled in it to make for an easy install.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the S&B CAI with an oiled filter vs. dry filter other than the fact one has oil on it and the other doesn't?

That's about it. The oiled filter is reusable whereas the dry filter is disposable. You can usually get about 15-20k miles out of the dry filter whereas the oiled will last the life of the truck if you clean it and oil it properly. You wont feel any performance difference between the 2.

Thank you, didn't really figure there would be too much other than the fact that you wouldn't have to keep replacing filters with the oiled one. Think this will be my next purchase from you along with the 24" mufflex. PM me if you might can work it as a package.
