Given that it sounds like the "DPF Full" message popped up sorta suddenly and out of the blue, I would suspect that the DPF pressure sensor may have glitched or might be flaky.
As for the life of the DPF, if you were closer to 300K miles it could be coming to end of life. Not to say that a DPF can go bad before then but there's more likely something else causing an early DPF failure.
Wow. This is another very helpful comment, Crash. Thank you.

A ******'s DPF filter can last 300,000 miles? And I experienced the "DPF FULL" message at just 30,000? Something is amiss. I'm going to message the service writer to see if I can get the rig in on one of my upcoming trips and have them look into that DPF pressure sensor. Thanks, again!

In my opinion what had happened was all of your short trips and lightly loaded operation had sooted up the DPF. Your long highway trip it got enough differential pressure to trip the warning, but your continued highway operation got every thing hot enough that the regeneration cleaned out the DPF as it is supposed to do.
Also I do believe that cold winter ambient tempertures do make it harder for the DPF's to regenerate I have had people tell ne it doesn't but my experiance tells me it does. I also run winter covers on any diesel to get them up to working temperature which will increase your exhaust temperatures. So with no lights or stored codes I wouldn't worry about it, buttun her down a couple gears and give her a 40-50 mile highway run once in awhile.

I had the DPF full warning pop up while on a long road trip. Reduced power. Basically boost was limited to 15. After some research I put 2 bottles of Rislone in my 1/2 tank of diesel. Ran a steady 60 mph for 30 miles. The DPF filter cleared and has not been an issue.

I believe it was a fuel related issue. I was 1500 miles into a 2000 mile round trip when I filled up at a Loves. Within a 100 miles the DPF filter was filling up. Bad diesel will produce more soot.

I just went through KC a few days ago and can tell you I noticed Loves diesel prices at about every station I passed had diesel priced 30-70 cents per gallon high than places like QT, 66, Walmart or Maverick and I can say I got the same mpg from Wally diesel as I did from all the other stations I bought diesel from until I bought diesel just out side Denver CO 2 days ago that has B20 yuck...
