I have a 2003 Dodge Ram with a hemi 5.7L
I have already checked all fuses, swapped out relays, checked visible grounds and battery cables, checked battery, (battery is good) checked ignition switch. The problem I’m having is, the truck won’t crank not start whenever it feels like it. Whenever it doesn’t crank, fuel pump doesn’t work, gauges on the instrument panel don’t work(lights on dash do work along with all other interior lights and radio) I don’t get any messages on the instrument panel unless I do the check for chassis codes step. I sent the pcm to get checked and I was told it was still good and with no problems, I drove the truck around today with no problems, got home, turned it off for aprox. 5 minutes, went to go crank it back up and gave the same condition, needles wouldn’t work, no crank no start. Waited for about 20 minutes and everything worked again. Checked temperature gauge and it was at about 1/4 of the way. If anybody could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Man, its always an easy fix. But finding the problem is always the hardest, most time consuming part. You already checked everything I was thinking of. From an experience I had on a Jacobsen R311 commercial mower. After it ran for so long, it would shut down by itself or it wouldn't start back up after 15 minutes. Nothing was working, very same situation your truck is doing. Now I know this is a mower and you have a truck. But what the problem ended up being was a connection to one of the relays. The loose connection was causing the relay to heat up, and pop. Then it would reset itself after 15 min or so. This is just a guess, but I would say you have a loose connection somewhere. I would physically go through and wiggle all your connections, and see if any move. Start at the battery, work your way from their. I had to see a wiring diagram, or I never would have found those relays.
