I have a 2006 1500 with 5.7 liter, Regular cab and 99,600 miles.
Recently when slowing down to park , the engine surges while my foot is on the brake.
My brakes hold, but the rear wheel spins a little. This is unnerving to say the lest.
Has anyone heard of this before, could there be a recall for it?
No other issue with truck.

Worried

I have had similar experiences with vacuum leaks....perhaps the leak is in the brake system like the brake booster. A leak will make the engine demand more fuel thinking it is a throttle response. Hard to diagnose with little info without actually being there to see it happening and the symptoms you state. Educational guess at best.

Thanks for the reply.
This is very intermittent, it works fine 99% of the time, then without warning it happens. So far it has only happened four times since Summer, with the last time being three days ago.

Is it something that you feel in the brake peddle ?
Is it something that you see on the tachometer ?

does it feel like your brake pedal is pulsing ?

I feel it, the tach jumps up, and no pulsing from the brake peddle.
It feels like I stomped on the gas and brake pedals at the same time.

I would have someone smoke test the brake booster/check the rest of the system for leaks also clean your throttle body it may be gummed up.
