Howdy! :birgits_tiredcoffee
I just recently got a 2004 Ram 1500 Quad SLT Sport 2X4 - Wow what a mouthful! I also got my mancard back as I traded in an 03 Grand caravan. :naughty: I am not new to Pickups - Dodges for that matter... but am new to the third generation trucks.
Truck has a dual exhaust... flowmaster system. and a K&N drop in filter. I think that's all the mods that have been previously done to the truck. Got a good deal on it... and was smart and purchased a warranty. Good thing cause at two weeks the rear end blew up - basically paying for the warranty twice! Go figure the pinion nut had come lose? So now it has a completely rebuild rear end!

The truck is not without it's issues though....
Power seat only goes back and forth not up and down (both vertical motor gears are bad).
Truck stalls after filling up the tank for a short while?
Throttle response slow... doesn't downshift for a few seconds when needing to pass.
clearcoat jacked up from when stripes were painted on
Mutiple speakers blown (infinity system)
Headlights suck... I think a bic lighter is brighter (Been an issue since Dodge dropped the D line trucks I think)

Anyhoo..... thought I would say Howdy and introduce myself!

Thanks all!!!
Yeah I looked at his lights... really nice. But with a car note again might be a little while before I can peel off six bills for lights. Might start with silver stars for the time being

Welcome to the forum!

All the things you listed can be fixed. I'd take a shot at renewing the headlight lenses (Meguiars Headlight Restoration Kit or something similar) and adding some Silverstars.

Infinity Reference speakers are a great bang for the buck and will really make a difference, even with the stock amp for very little cost.

When you fill up the truck, make sure the cap is tight. If it is and it still does this, replace the cap first. That's the cheapest fix for a common problem.

If you are in O/D when running around town, shift outta that setting and run in 2nd or 3rd. This will reduce the heat in the transmission and give you better shift down response. The stock program is a bit slow, for sure.

Good luck!

Welcome! These stock headlights do suck, but the oxidation on them can actually make a big difference. Yours dont look too bad, so you might be able to fix them up a little like Michael said
