Is there a difference in the truck bed between a Ram 1500 and a 1500 Classic?

I cannot seem to find the answer to this: is there a difference in the truck bed from a Ram 1500 to a Ram 1500 Classic? I believe the difference lye in the front end, and interior of the truck and not the truck bed. I have a bed liner that says it fits "06 thru 19 Classic" trucks and it is trying to find a new home.

Convert, for now.

The Classic is pretty much still just a 4th Gen, so like 09-18

I understand the difference in the grill and some interior differences but the truck bed is what I am concerned with. I have had 3 people interested in the liner, one who even drove about 50 miles and found out it did not fit. Those 3 all had the short 5'6" bed and mine is for the mid size 6'7" bed but it states "Classic" on the label for the fitment and not Ram. I don't have Ram box's so that is not an issue but I just can't find definitive differences in the beds between the two.

So, a bit confusing is your question. Obviously a 5'7 bed liner will not fit a 6'4 bed. So that isn't the issue you are asking.

You say the description is RAM classic.

What that means is it will fit a 2009 to 2019 RAM DS bed.

Yes, the 2019/RAM DT or new body style has a differrent bed and will not fit.

That said...the bedliner you have it is for a 6'4 bed will still fit a 2019/20 RAM HeavyDuty as that bed did not change.

So the simple answer...if it has the new front end and is a 1500 it will not fit.

If it has the same front end as a 2009 to 2018 it will fit.

And the new front end 2500 and 3500 still have the same bed as the 2010 to 2018 Heavy Duty and 1500 in the 6'4 size.

Hope that helps. Any clarification let me know

If you have Quad cab, then box is 6'3". If its a crew cab then its 5'7". Box matches style of cab on 1500 and 1500 classic. Sounds like you have a quad cab, so will only fit quad cab, not crew cab

Quad cab has only 6'4 bed.

Crew Cab can be had with 5'7 or 6'4 bed.

He already sold it.

You can tell the lenght of the bed by the distance from the back of the box to the gas door.

I've heard that the bed covers from the 4th Gen do not fit perfectly on the 5th Gen. So, the classic does have the same bed as the 4th Gen (obviously, since it is a 4th Gen), but does not have the same exact be as the 5th Gen.

the classic is one inch narrower I was told. If you want a tonneau cover you will have to chose the 2019 classic old style and the quad cab is called extended in most web site.

No cover needed, as I have one. My question was for the bed-liner that came with my truck. I dislike plastic bed-liners and put it up for sale. I actually had 3 people interested but they all had the short bed and my was from a mid size bed. I ended up finding someone whos truck it fit and sold it.

Very interested In this topic also...as I have a raider fiberglass hard tonneau and a mopar bedrug from the 4th gen ram 1500 crew I just sold and bought a 2024 gt crew dt ram 1500. I was also told these will not fit new truck? Not seeing any difference between the 2 different gen rams. Thanks for any helpful info especially if I these would fit I'd rather use them instead of buying new again. Ty
