Issues to look for when buying a truck.

Hello all. I'm new to the forum. I lost my 07 Dakota in hurricane Sandy and have been looking for a Ram to replace it. Most of the Rams I have been looking at are higher mileage. I specifically looking at 06-08 4wd Hemi models.

My question is what issues should I look for with trucks over 100k miles? Common issues with the Hemi's or truck in general? I know about possible front suspension issues cause my Dakota had a bunch. I know my way around a truck and the usual things to check for. Also are there any rust issues? I had a 99 Ram years ago and had the common rockers and door rusting.

Welcome, sounds like you know the normal stuff to look for. Check the fluids and fenders, door corners and bed and bumpers like normal. With the years your looking for try to find leather, the fabric seats in 06 I believe stain easy with just water.

^agreed also see if you can get the truck to a shop and have it checked out, most shops will charge under $100 to check out the whole thing and that could save you thousands of dollars in the long run.
