I did a couple of searches and found nothing in the forums. Does anyone have experience with this piggyback module. I'm looking at a Stage 1 as I don’t want to pay for high-test fuel. I mostly want the more aggressive shift settings but I have no idea if the module is worth the money.

Thoughts?

My '94 is the first year of the 2nd Gen and has an OBD1 so no hook up for a traditional programmer

Thanks for the input.

mmmmkay....Here is what I know about Jet: the PCM will override it after a few key cycles...BUT, that is for OBDII trucks, yours is OBDI. That being said I don't know if it will override or not.

However, I do not believe a "chip" or tuner will affect the shift schedule any at all as most of the shift speeds and line pressure is controlled by that of the TV cable off the throttle body.

Yea, I think I’m outta luck with any type of reprograming. The 318 has great low end torque but up shifts as soon as it can, no matter the throttle position. Even 3in past the firewall. This is more a want to have rather than a need as I have minimal mods. Specter CAI and a magnaflow 50 series muffler. Throttle response improved slightily with the CAI. I know I'm talking two different solutions to one issue, trans and throttle just not sure what I can do that will make any difference.

Thanks for the link. I may give it a try but I admit I get nervous messing around with the tranny on these trucks. I guess you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

All it does is trick the transmission into thinking the throttle is open further, thus allowing a slightly later, firmer shift. I've personally moved mine 1/8th of an inch rear word because I wanted to delay OD by a couple MPH due to my city driving and I have suffered no ill effects.

That time i accidentally dropped the trans. into reverse at 45 tho......yeah...that's made it angry.

Im having a similar thing with my tranny except it shifts up(from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th) as soon as it can which get really annoying when entering the freeway because I have to push the peddle a fair amount further so it will up shift and let me enter the freeway at around 2700 rmps. Tranny still shifts strong but am I able to.change the upshift points by adjusting the tv cabel? Or are these trannys desinged to keep these truck in sub 2500 rmps?
