Driving around town on a somewhat hot day, i went from about 50mph and hit a stop light. as i started to come to a stop the truck just died on me. then today i was dumping some trash in the dumpster, left it run, and then went to get in and drive away, put it in drive and it died on me again.

no crazy sounds or vibrations. just an all of a suden low idle and then dead. both times it has started right back up. I always run 89 octane at least. currently it has 91 octane in it.

Lastly i did just use my bully dog tuner (yeah yeah I know crappy tuner) and went from a stock tune to the performance tune.

anyone have any thoughts on this?

I've had the bullydog on performance since I bought it. With no problems. Try doing an update on the tuner, if that doesn't work I'd put it back on the regular tune.

There is no set mileage to replace the EGR valve. Replacement is only needed if the valve is faulty.

Check your plugs, check your TB. Did it happen right after the tune? The PCM could have not rewritten fully.

Check the throttle body. If it's dirty, give it a good cleaning.

I read some reviews on the tuner, if there aren't any codes then you need to call bullydog and talk to one of their tech's... They had to rewrite a tune for a guy on his bc it was acting up like that.

Ya I would say if the only thing that has changed is the tune then its the tune itself. Maybe there is a fault from idle and 0 TP
