Looks awesome I had this on my old civic. I really like the style just something different. Something else to add to the list :) didn't know they made them for our trucks. So did you end up going with the black ones? How coke you changed the tips so many times?? Do they change the sound at all? I am thinking of getting a dod14m. Just wondering if changing the tips will make it sound different at all. Killer job!

I noticed a slight change in tone from going to 4" single walled tips to 5" double walled. To me sounds a little deeper/louder.

Couldn't the stock tips be used as the transistion from 2.5 to 4 inch? Stock tips are 4 inch correct? I was thinking of getting bolt on black tips and having the stock tips moved back to allow room for the new tips that would be 12 inches long.

Kinda, stock exhaust is 2.25" but the tips are 4". The OEM tips are ball/socket style flange so if u were to move them back u would have to loose the ball&socket flange and weld or go cut and reweld. At either of this its not really worth it and would recommend that you just fork up the 5" bolt on tips from Moe's as they are designed for our stock trucks and look great. The cost won't be that much different since u have to pay someone to refab everything and weld plus the cost of tips and then u can't go back to stock.

Most of us doing the 2.5" to 5" tip mod are people with aftermarket cat backs. If u still have OEM then go with Moe's. No one really offers the 5" tip version with aftermarket exhausts unless u buy a kit that has them.

Just put mine on. Can't believe how much of a different sound I have with them as opposed to my previous tips. I have no muffler and actually ordered a Carven the other day because the snap crackle pop sound my straight pipes were producing was driving me nuts. These bigger tips offer a much smoother tone and totally got rid of the crackle. Now I'm not sure if I still want to put the Carven on or just leave straight pipes.
