Hello, I just put a Ready Lift 2.5 and 1.5 rear leveling kit in my truck and now need new tires on my 2012 Ram 1500.

I currently have 265/70/17 and I am wanting to go with something like a LT295/70R18 (34") Nitto Trail Grappler. They guy that put my level in said I can put 35's, but my husband said no way it would look stupid and I should go with 34" and less.

So does anyone run the LT295/70R18 (34") tire? How does it look and does it rub? Did it add a bit more lift to the truck? The level did make a difference but I wish it was a bit higher.

Does anyone have pics?

Thanks

Thats a 2" HBS front level. Rear was stock.

Here it is after a 1.25" body lift:

If you run a true 35x12.50 on just a level, you will rub trust me! I've been there and done that! Run a 295 tire..basically a 34" tire

The problem I ran into when trying to find the perfect tire that wouldn't rub the control arm and would be "big enough" was the price. The longer I searched and compared the more frustrated I got. I ended up with 35x1250s and a +0 offset wheel and absolutely no rubbing with just a level. I'm soooooo glad I went that route instead of the 34s route. 35x1250 is perfect and honestly could use a little more height. I don't even remember what I was looking at now, but the 34s that I wanted were ~1700. New wheels and 35s ran me ~2300 at discount and was worth every penny.

Just a level and 35x1250

I was quoted 2200 for KMC XD Monster Wheels and those 295 Grapplers. Which seems decent for Canada, but I don't know...

I like your truck, those tires look great!

I love your truck :) Is it just me or were the 2010 stock height higher than the 2012's? Your stock height rear pic looks like how mine looked after the level. They put 2.5 in the front and 1.5 block (I thik its called that) in the back.

Crazy how much that 1.25" BL made a difference. I think I'm going a similar route with Bilsteins at 2.8, a 1" rear spacer, and I can't make up my mind on a 1.5" BL or a 3". Good lookin' truck.

if all your going to do is a level, stick with 34's. if you plan on a body lift in the future to go with the level, go 35's. 35's on just a level looks a bit stuffed to me. not enough wheel gap.

I won't be doing a body lift anytime soon and I don't want that stuffed look for sure. Thanks :)

Cruizer what wheels are those?

Mine are just Plasti-Dip'd OEM wheels. It didn't bond well though and I'm back to the fake chrome for now.

I was thinking of doing that but realized that with 40 km a day on a dirt road and the crazy winters we have here that it wouldnt last.

It might. When it sets up, it holds fairly well. I blacked out my grill with it and hit a bird last week at 60mph. Didn't even leave a mark in the Plasti-Dip. With my rims, I think I should have sprayed the backside as well, and there might have been some tire shine residue that didn't come off when I cleaned them. I feel it was my fault they didn't stick, everything else I've sprayed with it has held including my tailpipes.

I got 295/60r20s (34") on mine after a level.

I think I could have gone 295/65r20 (35") and still been just fine.

Here's after the leveling, my tires look so tiny now. I will be adding bushwaker flares too.
