DO we get to guess on the weight as well? I'm in at 5580 (~1/2 tank gas)
Sure a guess on weight as well. I’m going to to a full tank...the only ad ons as far as weight will be the roll up bed cover and a pair of smitty built side steps. Wanna stick with 5580?

5690 if you're out of the rig.

I had a 2012 Laramie Longhorn, I went from Whitehall Pa to Lumberton NC. to pick my mom up and bring her home. I got 21 on the way down empty. I towed a U-Hall 12' box trailer full back and I got 18. I think you will get about 17 to 19 mpg. Enjoy the trip.

Well I didn’t get a change to get a weight. Perhaps tomorrow if we stop at a truck stop for fuel. After filling up leaving NJ around 11ish and stopping for the rest room once after about 2.5 hours This was my first fill up. 16.779 Gal and 285.6 miles driven after about 5.5 hours. I had my cruise control set around 70, which is really about 73 or so for me, the majority of the time when I could however we hit some traffic in the DC and Richmond area.

Now I know my speedometer is off by about 4-5% I’ll just say it was 298 miles driven. So my math comes out to around 17.6 MPG at the first fill up.

We have stopped for the night in NC and after the first fill up in pretty sure my MPG has dropped. We had no traffic and the speed limit was 70 and I had the cruise control set at 75, so around 78 mph. I’ll fill up tomorrow and update the thread.

Hello all! I’m starting a tread to keep track of my MPG on my upcoming family trip.
Going to go from NJ to FL then FL to GA then back to NJ.

Back to Nj..... Why. Once you find out how to get out you're supposed to let the rest of us know how...:D

Have a safe trip.

I went to Ft Meyers last march. Total round trip was about 2600 miles. I wrote down each fill up and found the dash mpg was less than .5 mpg from calculated. I got just under 17 mpg which included a 2.5 hour bumper to bumper traffic jam in DC.

Also I had the cruise control set between 80 & 85 most of the way and did a lot of passing. Wife commented that the speedometer was in triple digits a few times. These trucks are fun to drive:cheers:.

How the hell do you people get such good MPG? I have a 2014 1500 6 spd with the 20inch wheels (4wd) and I have never seen 16mpg... lol! I drive 78-287-206 every day.. the most I got before the winter change was 15.5.. Then I put in a pedal commander........ not the best move to save fuel, HA! but even when I don't use it, I get **** mileage. winter gas I' getting high 14's...

I did a 6500 mile trip across the country with the wife. Averaged 21mpg total.

Some places I got as high as 24, some places as low as 13.

That was also calculated not the meter on the truck.
2012 5.7l hemi 2wd though.

206 has a few lights on it. Lol. If you are driving 287 and 76 during rush hour, that will kill your mpg. Also what tires and air pressure are you running ?

I'm with ya Joey!

I know, let's just add 4-5 miles per hundred. That should help.

So here are the results as I got home last night according to the computer. I’ll have to do the math to see how it compares, however I have to gather all the fuel receipts. Over all the trip went well. Never got to get a weight ticket, oh well. I’m sure MPG would have been better if I had the 8 speed. Still love my RAM.

I have an 18 1500 and 3.92 gears.
Two weeks ago drove it from GA to FL and got exactly 18mpg. Did the math by the reciepts and mileage and the meter is right on the money.
4 people in the truck and about 1000lbs in the bed.

And yes i still love my truck

Just did the math and taking into account the speedo being off just figured 4% error and I came up with 18.35 MPG Over all better than expected. With the weights I said before on the way home we had a hitchhiker. My wife’s sister came back from FL to visit and of course all her luggage.
