Key Fob Not Factory Issue

I bought a 2018 Ram 2500 diesel. I bought it new online after 2 1/2 days of haggling for the price. I went in and drove it then signed papers. I got home and went to lock it that's when I noticed it did not come with a Fob for the locks. I called the dealership and they said the truck does not come with keyless entry. (it is a base model with the offroad package) They were right the sales sticker did not advertise keyless entry. (wish I would have noticed)

I have called many shops and the shop at the dealer, they can not answer my question, which is as follows. The dealer said it might need some kind of box, can't remember what its called, but he didn't know.

QUESTION- The truck does have electric locks. Is it as simple as buying a key fob and programming it? (i assume it's not) If not, what would it entail to get it to where a key fob would work? It is not a big deal but it is an annoyance that I don't care for.

Any information is appreciated.

There is a receiver box that is needed to collect the fob signal.

You have to flash the truck with the keyless entry sales code, then program the fobs.

Check out the link below. Its for adding remote start, but I would think some of the same equipment would be needed, then have the dealer add the correct codes.

You are better off just getting an aftermarket keyless entry. Heck its probably about the same price to just add a remote start and keyless aftermarket because both will require a bypass module and its the same one.
