What’s up guys.

I just had a stupid question ‍♂️ I’m looking into picking up some king coil overs for a steal here by where I live and I have a ‘15 express 4x2 (judge me) Ram. The coilovers are coming off at 4x4 ‘15 Ram. Should there be any issues? Let me know greatly appreciated.

You don’t have coilovers, you have shocks. They won’t work on your 2wd

Does anyone else make a coilover conversion kit that is less expensive or someone who makes drop crosmembers for the 4th gen 2wds to get an extra inch or two up front ?

No one makes it yet but here is what you'll need...

Front coilover shock towers similar to the the height of the OEM 4x4 setup will need to be welded to the frame and the stock setup cut off.

OEM factory 4x4 Lower control arms will replace the 2wd LCA.

The king coilovers of choice.
Maybe another odd or end I haven't seen yet. Pretty much everything else is interchangeable.

It can be done.

You can't run coilovers on a 2wd truck.

With that being said, there's a company that makes a conversion kit. It's a full mid travel setup.

Yup that's the ish right there.

I wonder if the their frame mount locations are the same as stock. I don't need $1100 upper control arms :banghead:

That way I could get the mount, coilovers and LCA's and be done with it.

$970 still seems pricey for the mount. $200 ballpark would be nicer.

Just do a 1.5” body lift

If I'm putting a body lift i might as well do a 3 inch... no ?

Well you could. You said 1-2” and a 1.5 BL falls directly in the middle of that. So I just mentioned that size.

I think the 3” would look great too. Would just take a little more work to get the exhaust tips lined back up etc.

But I do know 4th gens look good with them compared to some other trucks.

Yes I've emailed them back and forth gathering info around the subject. These shock mounts will possibly require their coilover to fit (get to that later.) Reason being the DK shock tower mounts with an eyelet to the coilover. Factory 4x4 has that 3 bolt plate to mount to the upper coil bucket. I've looked at the 4x4 offerings from Fox and King and it appears like you can just unbolt that top hat. Question is how much can we adjust the shock out to make up that difference.

Now DK said their shock mount is the same height as OEM factory 4x4. We'd just have to take their word for it till someone gets these welded up to the frame and starts measuring for the coilover.

With that said just spring for new factory equivalent Lower control arms.

Interesting ...thank you for the info ....

So either way there needs to be some cutting and welding ? Nothing is just a direct bolt on application ?
