I am very interested in purchasing a new Laramie 1500 and love the truck in every way except for the driver's seat. I'm tall and long-legged and have back issues, and I like a lot of thigh support. But with the front of the seat adjusted all the way up, and the back of the seat all the way down, I don't quite get as much thigh support as I like. All I need is a 1/2" to 1" increase in height of the front of the seat to be comfortable.

I've done some searches and have found where you can get some after market seat adjustment "risers" that can be installed between the front seat braces where they attach to the floor of the truck. I think this would do the trick, but I also hate to be making this kind of change to a brand new vehicle. This might cause warranty issues, and a part of me thinks that if the power seat adjustments that are already on the truck from the factory are not to my liking then maybe I just need to look for a different vehicle. Problem is, I don't like the Ford seats any better (for different reasons), and I won't even consider buying a Chevy.

I'd appreciate any advice/thoughts about my situation. Thanks!

I'm not sure what else you can do to raise the front of the seat other than to add spacers to the front mounting points. And I can't think of any warranty issues that would be caused by adding those, unless you broke or stripped a fastener when installing them. Add the spacers and enjoy the truck.

It helps. You can make your own spacers or buy them online for 55.00 I think the seats are made for a short squatty person with stubs instead of legs. Detroit diesel makes a very nice kit that raises it 1.5" I put in the back and leave the front as is. I am tall and my tail bone hits the cross bar in the back. A local upholstery shop can remake the seat and have never had a warranty issue. In fact, on my 2020 Jeep GC, Jeep sent the new seat bottom to the dealership and they had my shop do the mod. When they saw it, they are now send this guy lots of work. I have been looking for a set of leather seats for my BH and then have them fixed.
