My '23 2500 Cummins has LT275/70 R18 as stock tires. I'm due for replacement. What is the largest size people have gone with on stock wheels and suspension on their '23 2500's? Wouldn't mind going a little larger but without needing lift or after market wheels with different backspacing.

Thanks!

I have run 295/70/18's on plenty of truck. One of the most popular is the Nitro Ridge Grappler and it has a very good looking tread design as well as the Nitro Recon Grappler. Prinx HiCountry R/T's have surprised me in how good they have been on one of my customers daily drivers.

There are several good choices. Find something that you like and fits your budget and go with it.

Side note...I have also used a 305/65/18 and 315/65/18's and they were nice too.

On those 315/65/18's, did you have any issues with rubbing at full turn? Not a whole lot of clearance between the tire and sway bar or control arm at full steer with the stock 275/70 R18

In case you've stumbled across this, and wanted to know :hmm:, I ended up going with 305/65/18 Nitto Grappler AT's and don't have any rubbing at full steer. Definitely looks MUCH better as the tires fill the gaping front and rear wheel wells a bit more and there's a slight bit of additional width vs the stock size of 275/70/18 (plus the Nitto has a bit more tread lugs on the sidewalls). Since we're not talking about a huge jump in diameter I'm not worried about speedo differences. Fuel economy thus far seems to be quite similar as well. The ride is WAY better given I was on nearly bald tires, alignment was off and balance was cruddy at higher speeds. Always a great difference having new tires in the overall ride. The Nitto's, as well, don't have much higher road noise despite the aggressive tread pattern (to me they are closer to a mud terrain than an all terrain).

What is the fascination with "larger tires." It is like a fetish. Wider tires reduce traction in the snow. Fine on sand, but I don't drive in sand.

No kidding, I like tall tires with a large sidewall

And I do love the look of tires sticking out a little, or being flush with the fender flares

But as far as being functional, tall and skinny is the way to go, just look at the WWII jeeps

larger tires are guaranteed to reduce the horsepower available at the wheels.

I have a Ram Classic. Want just a little wider tire, nothing crazy. I know you can do more with aftermarket wheels, but those will have to be later. I'm on 265/70/17s. Any recommendation for a little bigger look?

Ram classic…must be half ton. I would say 285’s would be a good size.

Form should follow function.
Fashion often has nothing to do with function.
Back in the 1980s we had 15 and 16 inch wheels on trucks and pretty tall narrow tires. We drove in the snow all the time in Colorado and Wyoming and did fine with them. I remember a guy that moved out from California. We had really wide tires on his truck. He thought they looked cool. He couldn't go anywhere in the snow and changed them within 2 weeks.

Your stock tire is 33 tall by 10.8 wide. You can easily go to 35 tall by 11.6 wide on your existing rims with no lift. Your speedo will be out a bit, per picture, but not a lot.

Remember to account for the difference when calculating gas mileage or it will look like mileage dropped. It does sometimes with wider tires but it is more often a function of the speedo error.
