Where is the best place to get LED lights? I am looking for taillights, 3rd brake light, interior, license plate, and reverse lights. Anything else I should convert while I am at it. I was looking at CAR ID and they seemed a little over priced.

I purchased my LED tail lights on Amazon.com. They also sell the 3rd brake light along with other LED lighting.

Are you talking light bulb or full replacment fixture? I am looking for the bulbs since I will be modding or painting my lights. I wish I had my truck so I could see how many bulbs I need.

Sweet website. Way cheaper than Car ID. Now just to figure out how many bulbs per applications. Now to figure out what it will take to make my headlights and foglights HID.

Just a warning yoh may have to buy the resistors to offset the lower resistance of the led bulbs.. Our trucks have a very annoying system for lighting (I experienced the hard way with the headlights) and annoyingly resistance thrown off will trip annoyingly lamp out code and possible cause the lights to flicker annoyingly nd what not. Just a head up this is why I have stayed with normal bulbs until I really get around to wanting to add resistors in the circuit

So a person could buy the LED bulb and place a resistor on the wire, and that would work just fine if they wanted to keep the tail lights looking stock?

I am on the fence with all of this. I would like to have brighter lighting that lasts longer between bulb changes but I am afraid to buy a $200 set of LED tail light assemblies just to find out that i still need to rig the wiring.

I've read all over this forum that the LEDs use much less power than a regular bulb, and that sometimes causes the bulb to faintly glow even if the vehicles is turned off.

Just trying to gather the required information needed so i can have all required parts on hand before I start the upgrade. I hate doing a job twice.

I'm either dumb or it's just not clicking for me. I need to look at all this stuff again on my home computer. This work P.O.S doesn’t pull up 90% of the pictures on this forum or 3/4 of the websites I try to go to. :flame: I would just like to be 100% certain I can do this myself before I make the purchase. I don't like anyone working on my truck if I'm not able to see the work being done or actually be a helping hand.

Ive got 6k morimoto hids and absolutely love them super bright, just make sure if you get them to mount your relay facing up so no water will get in there and fry it like mine did

I love the way they look, but i cannot justify $600 headlights on a 2003 truck that I will only have for a few years till I get something new.
