Costs about that much too once you add in all the stuffs!

Nah it’s cheaper than new housings of the same quality if you do all the work yourself.

Indeed. Something I’m not willing to do which is why I bought the xb led housings instead.

Which is all the more reason to get a quality kit and spend the money over some cheap low cost kit.

You absolutely correct. HIDs do have more components and if you go cheap you are asking for problems down the line.

I have Bi-Exon HID projectors in both my high and low beam Quad assemblies. They include ballasts and Canbus adapters but no resistors. The components are fro DDM where I had the opportunity to go cheap or pay for higher quality. Needless to say, there's too much work involved to go cheap on the components.

Its not that bad opening just take your time. This will be my 3rd set Im opening up for the retroquik kit into my 2018 2500 limited. Heres my fxr 3.0 place holder lights that I just did today to get the factory ones out and start to work on.

Went with the 2stroke 2.0 leds in the highbeams as well.

Where does something like AlfaOBD factor in, since we have access to a whole ton of lighting settings, including "LED headlights present", "LED fog lights present", etc?

I have both Appcar DiagFCA and AlfaOBD. I asked the question of Appcar as follows:

3 - One of your options mentions Halogen to HID conversion. Does this eliminate the need for Canbus adapters and resistors? Or, what does this do?

Their reply:
Generally adapters or resistors are not needed. A small change in wiring harness may be necessary. Do you want to use the factory HID for Ram DS, or aftermarket HID ballast and bulbs?

My point is the same may be true in AlfaOBD, I just haven't searched for it.

Rams didn’t come with HIDs? Or is there something I don’t know.

I believe there use to be a factory HID kit but it was discontinued in 16 or 17. My parts guy was talking about it one day. I can try and get more details for you though if you want?

Output is one thing.

We also need to look at the pattern, not only how it looks but that it doesnt blind oncoming traffic.

Well it cant be too bad because nobody has flashed their lights at me since installed 3.5 months ago.

Ive adjusted them so that when i pull up behind a car the beam pattern in just below the top of a trunk so it should be ok

What setup? Is it in your SIG? I can't see signatures in Tapatalk on my phone.

Morimoto 55w HIDs 6500k (which reduces it to 5500k from the higher wattage). In stock projectors. Even with the **** optics of the stock projectors I’m willing to bet I’m getting a lot better output than if I put LEDs in there.

On that same note I’m anxious to see what these Morimoto LED projector housings can do when I get them in hopefully next month. Not expecting the same intensity, but I am expecting it to be very comparable to HID in output, width, and depth based on what I’ve been reading about the M LED projectors. If I’m not satisfied it’s off the the retroshop.
