I have a 2014 1500. I bought LED headlights housing, taillight housing, and third brake light. Dealer says that if I switch to LED it may cause some dash light to come on because of the power difference between LED and stock halogen. He also said it may not even work. Is any of this true? Help me out. Thanks fellas!!

Likely true. You will need some resistors to trick the truck into thinking there are incandescent bulbs there. If you're lucky your new gear has them built in.

Yep, just get the resistors if they are not built in already. I have them in my 14 on the headlights and taillights and there are no issues.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered the resistors. Are they easy to install?

Unfortunately I wasn’t lucky. Lol. I ordered the resistors for them. Are they pretty easy to install? Oh and thanks for the info.

Very easy to tap in the resistor wires. Plenty of you tube videos out there. Just make sure the resistors are not touching any wiring, they get hot. Usually you want to mount them to the metal. I was able to zip tie them where the zip tie only touches the wires on the resistors and holds them snug against the metal. But, just screw them to the metal if that turns out to be a hassle.

One wire on the resistor gets wired to the positive light wire, other resistor wire gets wired to negative light wire. Sounds crazy and backwards I know! But thats how it needs to be. I couldnt find any videos explaining how to wire the resistors, so i called a 3rd brake light manufacturer that includes the resistors and asked them how to wire them up. You only need one resistor for both of the led cargo lights on the third brake light.
