Trying to figure out if a 2024 Leer 122 topper bought for a 2019 1500 will fit my 2018 EcoDiesel 1500. The internet research says no, but the reasons it gives (my “flat tailgate” and her “taller bed rails”) are incorrect. The shop she bought it from also says no, but we had the trucks side by side and can’t actually figure out what would cause it to not fit. They are both 6’4” beds, the internal width of the rails is the same, bed rails to top of cab height it the same, tailgate is same shape. My rear cab light sticks out slightly more, but the topper has a notch to accommodate that difference. Can anyone tell me specifically why it wouldn’t fit?

I have a camper on mine that is a bit of an ordeal to take off, so we haven’t been able to measure the entire bed length rail interface width and shape. With everyone telling us it won’t fit we are hesitant to pull everything off to try it unless we know what the supposed differences are, and if they’d be a big enough deal that it would not sit flush and/or leak, or if it’s something that some padding, shimming or simple modification could fix.
