Hi All,

My '01 Dodge Ram 1500 2 wheel drive is making loud grinding noise when I turn. The left front tire is rubbing the upper A frame. It is grinding away rubber from inside of tire next to bead. It did this once before and it was a bad wheel hub bearing. Put a new one and new tires and asll was well. The bearing has no play now (been 11/2 yrs since replaced). My lower balljoints have a little play. The upper is anglinging out when the truck is jacked up and wheel removed. Will bad balljoints cause the tire to rub like this. I probably need new joints by now with about 142,000 miles on my truck. Anyway, any help asap is appreciated. I need to get it back on the road tomorrow for work. Thanks, George

Are you running stock size tires??? How much clearance do you have on the RIGHT FRONT TIRE between the upper A-Frame & tire/wheel.
YES wore out ball joints will allow tire movement, but it sounds like you might have other issues also, that is why I asked the questions I did.
