"Left tail light out" - but it's not!

Okay... some gremlin is getting cray in my truck for the last few months. I would randomly get "left turn signal out" when it wasn't. now it's happening much more frequently. It's factory LED tail lights... I pulled it out, checked for crud or water.. plugged it back in. a few days later... I get the error again? WTF?? Am I the only one?

When does it come on?? the first time you put on the brakes? first time you use the turn signal? right away upon ignition?
Is your cargo light working fine?
How long have you had LEDs in there?

Check all the brake lights.

It will come on randomly when I use the turn signals - always "left turn signal out" but the turn signal is working. all the brake lights come on. all the turn signals work. they are Factory LED tail lights, came with the truck (not added later).

Guess I need to update which truck (Doh!) 2014 Ram Sport 2wd

So does it start to 'fast blink' when the message comes on???

Fast blink on the dash ONLY... outside flashes normally

Corroded connection or ground?

Does your mirror also have a turn signal light on it? If so, have you checked that?

Seems common on trucks with aftermarket headlights installed.

The factory LED tail lights have a dedicated "fault" wire, there is circuitry inside the tail light that detects if any of the individual LEDs inside the housing have failed.
I would try swapping the left and right sides to see if the problem follows or you may just have to find a new or used one to replace the suspect faulty one.

Mine did this - some LEDs in the turn signal were gone. Dealer replaced the LEDs. Problem has been fixed for a couple of years now.
