I hope I didn't get a Lemon. I drove to work this morning and everything was normal. I went to go buy a coffee and all the warning lights were on, I waited for them to go away, but they didn't so I turned off the engine, waited a few seconds and turned it back on. The only light that is still on is the engine light. I only have 1k miles on my 3500. Is there a system check function or do I need to start making appointments already?

Electric stability control, Malfunction indicator light, ABS, and the front/rear parking sensors disabled.

From what I've heard a soft multi module reset ..... disconnect + & - batt terminals touch the terminals together for 10-12 seconds , leave both disconnected fo 30 +mins , ( I left them disconnected overnight).
This should reset modules ; however, you may still have a check engine light stay illuminated for the first several power ups & downs ... mine went away in a few days , mines also a 1500 2014...
Give it a try , it won't hurt anything.

That sucks that he should even have to consider having to do this on a new truck.

I wouldn't be disconnecting anything even if it works. I'd be driving straight to the dealership. After spending that much money on a new truck after 1000 miles the only reason I'd be under the hood is to add washer fluid.

I'm not saying, just hoping not. It sucks to buy a 69K truck and already making service appointments. I've had plenty of new vehicles over the years and I've been lucky I guess. I've only have three vehicles need repair work, a Sebring, Yukon, and a versa with over 100k miles

A Sebring... you poor, poor man.

Seriously though... make this FCA's issue. It's important for many reasons, the least of which is not establishing a vehicle service history in the event things DO go sideways at some point.

Hi jk6672,

I would head to your dealership when you have time to have them check the codes and let you know why the check engine light came on. There could be a lot of different reasons, so it's best to just get it checked. Let me know if I can assist in any way.

Take it in, make them give you a loaner. And maybe take a video of start up to show what it is going, bc as soon as you pull in it will all fix itself lol.

The earliest I could get into one of the dealership by me is Friday. I'm going to go to the one by me right now to please just look at the codes, because I don't want to be driving around all week like this

Push button start or keyed ignition?

If you have a key, do the following:

key off
key acc
key off
key acc
key off
key acc

Do it fairly quickly (4 seconds or so) and then look at the odometer area and you will see any active codes (unless its a transmission code), which you can then look up on line.

I'd just try the module reset , or go by your local dealer like " Ram Cares " Kori suggested above .

Wouldn't be a bad idea to get it on record ....just in case .

If you want to hear about a lemon ask me about my wife's Ford Flex that currently needs 2-3k in parts that seem to be N/A.

As a technician for Dodge, take it from me, let your dealership deal with it. Your dealership should be able to provide you with the rental car for the duration of whatever the repair takes. I understand it's frustrating buying is such an expensive vehicle and already having an issue. However, these vehicles are.mass-produced and anything can be left loose by accident , You could have a pinched wire somewhere a bad module about anything, but let the technician whoever that is figure that out first. Everyone wants to jump on the repair horse and usually only make it worse. If you clear any codes or any data that will indicate what happened when it happened and why it happened you'll only make it harder for the technician to diagnose. I know because I see it every single day

I totally agree with you, doesn't make any sense to become a shade tree mechanic when your vehicle is under warranty. What sucks is having to wait days before they can actually look at it.
