Leveled with heavy duty rear springs

Hi all, im new here and I am researching about bilsteins at 2.8 installed with heavier rear springs that lift you bout a inch or so. I will be towing a camper so don't want it to sag to much. Thanks

I have that exact lift. Bilsteins at 2.8, and tufftruck springs. I have a topper and custom cabinets inside full of search and rescue gear. That sits at a slight rake, with towing about 300lb tongue weight it sits level.

Looks awesome, what size tires and how much lift did the springs give you. Also what weight percent did you get. When I was looking them up I saw 20% stronger or 50?

Tires are LT 265 70R17s load range E. I have the 50% stronger springs, not the variable rate. It still rides great, but I have a constant load in the bed over 500lbs.

Cool, thanks for the info, so you deff saw a difference in them springs then huh. Also did you need new shocks with them and how much lift does the 50 give you empty. It says 3-4

I have bilsteins in the back too. They are 1 in longer than stock. It does sit at least 3 inches taller than stock with no load. I have yet to get it to sag, even with my car trailer loaded.

So are these rated to haul up to 50% more then stock ? If so that puts the 1500 close to 3000lbs instead of the 1600lbs it is rated for.

HD rear springs can increase payload. However you will start running into limitations with other items on the truck, such as the tires, wheels, rear axle & differential and brakes. Obviously tires and wheels are easy to upgrade. So this leaves the rear axle and brakes.

IHMO HD rear springs should be looked at as something that allows the truck to better manage a load, and not necessarily increase the truck's load rating.

IIRC, the rear axle on the 1500 is rated for a maximum of 3900 pounds. You must subtract the truck weight from that 3900. Even given this conservative rating, putting 3000 pounds into the bed of a 1500 is asking for trouble.

That was kinda my question and point, just adding springs and doubling the payload is alittle much and wondered if they really mean 50% increase in the load.

But these springs would probably give me the added load capacity I would need if I end up with a 1500.

3000 lbs in the bed of a 1500? Us 2g boys do that all the time.
