Look at some of the pictures of the procedure to put them 8" low pinion in our truck and you will see what they had to mod and it would be the same mod to the drop bracket. The ring gear isn't welded in the 8" rear making it easier to swap to better gears vs our diffs so some swap the whole assembly . Google is your friend
Been researching it a bunch. Found a pretty comprehensive thread on here with parts lists and everything. Aside from that Google has been quite the dead end circling me back to already viewed content. Seems pretty easy overall, still a bummer we have to swap the entire dif tho. This will be down the road a bit, prob keep this truck moderate, drop a 3.92 carrier in it and walk away. I'd rather put that time into a new trail rig and keep this thing under the KISS build ideology.

Btw noticed you're local 825. I'm local 11 IW. [emoji106]

Cool , I just retired and loving it . That was my thoughts just live with 3.92s. I normally get that in every Ram but they pulled a quick one on me. It used to be if theyput the 20" wheels on it it had the 3.92s. I out smarted myself after 3 1500s with 3.92s and 1 4.10 I blew it and ended up with 3.55s. Normally I walk away from the truck if it had 3.55s but I didn't do my homework this time and they got over on me with the 20" wheels . I used to have it set up so anytime a rear with 3.92s get posted on Ebay I was notified. Now that I am retired I am usually in my Jeep unless I need to carry my Kayak then I use the dog errrr Truck

Gonna be 31 this year....retirement is a distant fantasy lol. I hear you, I normally find the lowest geared rig I can but I jumped on what I had available to me used and that got me 3.55s. It's normally one of my first mods in conjunction with tires and suspension. Hard to replace deep gears on a lifted application

I had BFG AT’s put on yesterday and they did an alignment. The numbers were off which is weird since the dealer did and alignment with the level kit. I never got a print out when the dealer did it but the tire shop gave me one. Today I tried 4x4 in a straight line on pavement for about 1/4 mile in traffic. No shudder. So I will never know if it was the 1/2” settle in the front or a correct alignment that fixed it.

Great news. That’s a nice setup you have, it’s the exact parts I was gonna use until I decided to go with BDS

Because the stock rims are only 7” I went with 275/70/17 BFG TKO 2’s. I may buy larger rims/tires down the road but it looks More like a truck now than it did stock.

I was sitting at a light next to a 2500 and thought, man I had dealer do suspension and tires and he is still 2” taller stock. So I went and traded mine in and bought a 2500. Two totally different animals.
