What's the best way to go about doing this? I'm in a realm here that I just don't know anything about. Any help would be appreciated. All I'm looking for is about 1.5 inches more in the front.

Crank you torsion bars, then pick up some new shocks that are 1"-2" longer.
There are plenty of write-ups, but it's as simple as jacking the front end up so the wheels are off the ground, turning a two bolts, then lowering the truck back to the ground and take it for a spin. That's for the torsion bar crank.
Shocks are pretty straight forward. Do some fender height measurements and adjust accordingly.

My shocks in the front are pretty shot anyways. Might as well! Edit: have no idea which shocks to purchase this has always confused me. Anyone know which ones would provide an extra 1" to 2"?

Most shocks come in various lengths. Call up 4wheelparts and tell them what you are looking for and they can get you a part number, or the part if you decide to buy from them.

Thanks. I'll do that in the morning.
