I am new to lifts, my last truck was an 04' RCSB 2x4 Ram that I lowered and modified quite a bit. A month ago I picked up a '14 CC 4x4.

I initially wanted to level the truck and thought Bilstein 5100's were the way to go. Seems there is lots of talk on ball joint issues which lead me to look into UCA's. Seems like a lot of people have done Bilstein's and Zone UCA's which I don't quite understand (unless the UCA's were an after thought). Zone makes UCA's with a 2" lift built into them, they cost slightly more but are cheaper than doing both UCA's and Bilstein's. Am I missing something here? Is the adjustability worth the cost (as most seem to run the 2.1 setting)?

At the moment budget doesn't allow for anything crazy. I was thinking about doing the 2" UCA's and 1.5" body lift (Zone?). This would raise the truck 3.5" in the front and 1.5" in the back. Would this look weird with stock 17" tires/rims? (FWIW I didn't want the 20's)

Thanks,

Andrew

that would look alittle silly on stock 17's / 31's.

alot of people like the bils / zone uca combo because of the adjustable height, but also the slightly improved ride with the bilstein damping etc etc.

I would want to do the same thing personally. I would love to swap Bils all around on my truck, and have the fronts set at 1.4

You'd definitely be leaving some exposed wheel well any route with those tires. I still don't think it would look bad. My early truck pics with the level were 5100's set at 2.8" with 1.75" rear coil spacers. I had the stock 20's(33" tires) and it didn't look bad at all. A lot of people complimented it even when it was on that setup.

I'd be interested in seeing how it comes out if you go that route. Keep us posted.

The ucas don't do any lifting nor do they have anything built in. That is simply a package that includes both a standard levelling kit and the ucas
