Alright. I'm new to the 3rd gen Dodges but not new to Dodge. I recently upgraded from a 2001 to a 2008.
I'm in the market for a lift for my new truck and want to raise it enough to fit my 33s. My truck is a 2008 regular cab short bed 2wd with a 6spd 3.7l.
Here's what I have came up with and would like some comments on the good, bad, and ugly of this setup. It'll be a total of 5.5" up front and 2" in the rear.

Here's what I'm looking at to buy...

Daystar 1.5" coil spacer
CST Suspension 4" Cast Iron Lift Spindles
Ebay 2" rear blocks
Skyjacker SoftRide Hydro Rear Shocks
CST extended Break lines

This will run me about $1,000 or so... Suggestions/comments wanted. Thanks.

You shouldnt need the extended brake lines. Me and my buddy did a 6in in his 2004 2wd and he has enough slack in the line, and you might as well replace the front shocks as well. otherwise it looks good hope to see some pictures when its done

I read somewhere that in the 06-08 models is the ones that needed the extended break lines. And I also was under the impression that stock front shocks will be alright?

The stock shocks would be alright, i would just replace them all at once but thats just my opinion. And i didnt see that your truck was an 08 lol so im not to sure about the brake lines, but im sure someone will chime in soon that will know, good luck

I'll go ahead and pick up some daystar shocks while im at it then. Maybe it'll help the ride out some. Thanks.

Also if anyone has seen/ran this sort of setup before will 33s look good or would I need to go bigger? I dont really wanna push 35s around due to having 3.21 gears and only a 3.7 under the hood.

Why dont you just do rough country 6 in? Me and silram installed it on my truck and are about to do the same to his. It fits my 33s perfectly fine and I'm about to through some 35s on it.

Comes with everything you need. Lower control arm relocation brackets. Coils. Shocks. Lifted knuckles. Sway bar endlinks. Relocated tierod mount to sit flush like factory.

3 inch rear blocks. Rear shocks. And extended u bolts.

All for around 900 plus shipping or whatever the cost was. If you are looking to spend 1000 or more on it I dont think the rc kit is a bad deal for you!

I Love this kit personally and I am very glad I invested in it.

I would suggest getting 18s and 33s. Or 17s and 33s
I have 33s on 20s and it fills the fender pretty well but the sidewalls look a little to small sometimes. Just a tire to rim ratio though. You should be fine if you stick to 17s or 18s

All you should need to clear 33s is 3 inches up front. I have a 09 2wd and 33s and a 3 inch level. I have plenty of room in the front and rear

Im a 2wd. Those kits are for 4x4. And im not really wanting to get too high, I think small tires on a big lifted truck is not an ideal look.

I am also a 2wd. 33s dont look bad. i just want to get 35s lol. i do agree i hate that "california" look... big lift and the smallest tires on the stupidest offset possible... i dot like that at all.

the 6 inch lift i have fits the 33s really well and it doesnt look half bad. like i said i just need new tires and wanting to do 35s

that and you are looking at doing 5.5inches of lift anyways... may as well get the extra .5 inch for even less than what you calculated it out to be.

I contemplated just the 4" spindles up front but idk how that would look? When I did my measurements, the back was higher by 3.5 inches. I would still like to gain more clearance in the rear tho.

I also saw where CST offers the cast iron spindles and then they offer the fabricated spindles. I would guess the cast iron is just a weaker version but by how much? And would the fabricated spindles be worth the extra $200. I dont plan on doin much off roading, I just like the look of a good lifted stance truck. Thanks.

I think the cst spindles are way too pricey. Plus they push your wheels out roughly an inch as well, and I didn't want that goofy look.

If your staying on road for the most part or even light off-road you will be fine with the cheaper spindles.

I got 3 inch spindles on eBay for 270 bucks and haven't had a single problem. No need for extended brake lines either. Shoot me a pm if you have any other questions, I'll try to find the sellers name who I got the spindles from

They stopped offering that Rough Country lift in 05. It would only fit 02-05 models. That is a good deal tho..

just to give you an idea what comes in the 6 inch kit...

old and new parts!

this is the ending result of the install. keep in mind i have 33 inch tires that have 45000 miles on them... tires were not in my budget at the time of the lift. hoonestly it isnt a bad ratio at all.

Does not all spindles push out the wheel out? And I am a little leery from ebay products. They aren't always of the highest quality. Is there any other companies that sell spindles for the 08s?

honestly not really! the tires on the front are the same offset as the rear. doesnt look wierd. they both stick out about 2.5 inches regardless just because of the offest of my rims anyways

Its all good. Nice truck btw.

I got 17x9 Rockstars with -12 offset (sticks out about 2inches). I like the wheels sticking out look... I just don't want the spindles to push em out that much more

yeah trust me i am on the same boat man! this is why i refuse to get fender flares!

the spindles did not push the tires out to far. they are the same as the rears. rc did a good job on their spindles. i highly recommend this kit. and i got the upgraded nitro 9000 shocks and they perform really well.

but as you can see the 33s fill in the fender pretty well. plus mine are at 45000 miles as well so they are even smaller. i am upgrading to 35s because i just want bigger tires and more rubber on each side of the rim lol so this is what i will be doing in the near future :) as for you the 17 inch rim with 33 inch tires will suit you real well with this kit. like i previously stated the only reason i question my tires is because of the rim to tire ratio. you will have a lot of rubber above and below the rim so you wont have that distorted look!

installation.. very easy to install with a good set of tools a few jacks jack stands and a compressor!

i recommend doing the balljoints while you install the lift... just cuz it will already be taken apart... which is what i did. if you cannot i highly recommend doing them soon after. the reason i actually did the lift was because my ball joints were shot, and since i needed the suspension to be taken apart anyways we got the lift tot install as well!
