Thanks in advance for any responses. I have a 2017 1500 Laramie and I really would like some extra light. Recently drove from Salt Lake City to NorCal at night in heavy snow and some more ground light would have been great. I’d like to mount a bull bar and attach a light bar to that but I’m worried it’ll mess with the parking sensors. Does anyone know any other method of mounting a light bar close to the bumper? Once again thanks. ac4da34eac346a6b5a5cf6c7b42d03f7.jpg

Check out NFAB for their lightbars (they mount behind the tow hooks if you have them) or consider a 20 - 30 inch light bar in the lower part of the grill.

Here's my 2007 & 2014 with the NFAB light bar:

The 2014 with the same setup:

I decided to go with a PIAA lightbar on the 2017:

@MADDOG what kind of mounting brackets you use for the light bar in lower grill?

Thanks

you MIGHT want yellow light for conditions like that. White will bounce off the snow and fog and might be worse than not having additional lights.

I also went with the RC 20" But I went with the 5x version of the light. I had to drill holes in the bracket about a 1/2" back because the light housing is bigger. Couple of things, 1) it is low enough that it does not "blind" with the snow 2) now for the bad part, because LEDs do not generate a lot of heat, driving in a snow storm the light will cake up with snow. I just went through the "Cheyenne Blizzard 2019" and for the first 20 min it was good.

I attached mine to the top of the front bumper. I used a Dremel to cut through the plastic bumper cover and then installed Rivnuts into the metal bumper. I have a 20 inch bar mounted for close to 2 years with no issuesWIN_20190316_11_30_57_Pro.jpg

I’m thinking this will be the route I go. Thanks for all the responses.
