Okay, stupid question but I just want to be 100% sure. I'm working on a headlight build with my projectors, keeping the stock high beam, with that, I need to keep the reflector chrome correct? If I black it out i'll kill the light output, only way I could black it out would be to do a projector for the high beam, correct?

Do u want dual high beam? Projector high beam will usually over power the stock high beam so if u just want the look then your really not losing any light. But painting them will make them useless

Yes, blacking it out will kill it. Not sure what housing you have, quad or projector, but I'd recommend going projector if you can. Hell, a cheap amazon projector (ACME has mini H1 for $20) set with the shield down will help with the highs. I have retrofitted both and am no expert by ANY means, but might be able to help you out if needed.
