It was another good day working on the truck. Yesterday I installed the Westin off-road lightbar and three LED lights on it. At the same time I changed out the sport grille to the honeycomb grille. I had attended a gun show in Mesquite earlier Saturday so I ran out of daylight earlier than planned... so today I finished up the wiring. While I was inside doing the wiring I pulled the start button surround and painted it black.

I pulled three panels and did a lot of measuring before I wound up putting the switch is in the console panel. It just seem to be the best place in the easiest one to remove, take into the shop and cut for the switches. Took me longer to figure out where they were going in route the wires and then it did to hook everything up.

Looks good! Can you show a pic of the start button surround as well?

Looks nice, does that cause interference with your front parking sensors?

Yeah the driver side corner goes off at low speed’s, so I just turned it off. I pretty much always back into parking spaces anyway.

Trucks coming along nicely. Looking good. You’ve put a good amount of work into it in a short amount of time. Nice touch with the Hemi badge on the grill. So what’s next?

Thanks, Yeah this is kind of a fast track program due to the fact that it’s summer. Deck building is at its peak and I’m busy enough to be able to get things done a little faster. The great thing is so far I’ve been able to pay for all of it by selling the original parts and some reclaimed clear cedar I had.

I have the full length wheel the wheel step bars on the way. That’s next on the list. Then a tire change more than likely. At least the front two need to be changed the backs are wrangler HP and I like those all right but the fronts are the SR A’s. Why the dealership didn’t make them all match is a mystery.

Oh almost forgot to other things of been added to the list. I’ve got black lugnuts on the way, the fluted ones with the lock socket.

Also I am looking into black exhaust tips. Originally I was going to leave a little bit of chrome but I just don’t like it.

I’m not sure I’m going to do anything under the hood. I’ve got a warranty on it for 72,000 miles and I’m probably going to buy an extended warranty from Mopar when that time comes. Planned on owning it for 4 years, my house gets paid off just short of that and then I’m going to sell it. Once the house is sold the truck gets paid off and it gets sold. At that point it’ll be time for a Power Wagon!

It certainly is looking good. I like the start button surround, it makes it look "beefier".

What bar is that and how did you mount it to your truck? Mind sharing a link?
