anyone have or tried the JL Audio TR690-TXI 6x9's, any mods or spacers needed for these

I respect JL audio...but I just couldn't justify the price. I was looking at a C2 set (350x front, 525x rear)...but at $280 for the set vs the $160 for the kickers...I couldn't justify the price difference.

*DAMMIT

Seems those Kickers I bought are now on sale...that's total crap...

I put jbl 2 ohm power series 3 way in rear doors, just reversed the plastic trim ring.

I'm looking at buying now. Not sure when you bought but crutchfield says they have a 60 day price match

Great. Thank you. I'm sure I'll have many more questions when I start my stereo build.

Lol... the rotting looks like the car was underwater. If that much water gets in your door - you have way bigger issues. But yet, pvc is a great way to go, I use it for baffles on my boat.

the pvc 6x9 1/4" adapters work perfectly and fit perfectly just fyi. I just put them in my front doors a couple days ago...replacing the 6.5" speakers I had originally put in. Much better now!!!

i picked up the 4 6x9s for 229 and the jl cs350x for 74.99....just gotta look for the deals. on a side note the 6x9s really squeeze tight in the rear door baffle housing, it fits but only when you tighten down the screws

try some of those 6x9 1/4" brackets I posted that should help with the fitment for sure

Installed JL C2 6.5 component system in the front doors, with adapters. Way way way better then any 6x9. Never looked back.

where did you mount your tweets? I have a tuner in my A-pillar so A-pillar and Sail panel are out for me.

On the door side mirror plastic triangle cover
yeah that's the sail panel. Bummed, I really don't want to end up surface mounting them with angle brackets up at the dash. Thinking of running Qlogic kickpanels.

I’ve got these Pioneers in all four corners and they fit fine no spacer required for me. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-501a7SLuwpN/p_130TA6976R/Pioneer-TS-A6976R.html710014f0ccc3938dab5d0ad3ebef5b6b.jpg

2016 5.7L Ram 1500 QC

I've been researching 6X9 speakers that will fit in the front doors of my 2018 Big Horn. Could you verify that it is indeed the Pioneer TS-A6976R (seventy-six R) that fits in your Ram 1500 and it's not the TS-A6966R (sixty-six R)?

I ask because according to the Pioneer owner's manual, here are the speaker depths:

TS-A6966R 2 3/4"
TS-A6976R 3 1/4"

I've seen a couple of posts where the available speaker depth is 2 1/2" or 2 3/4" but never over 3". Although, here's one that shows it being 3".

Therefore, I think I should buy the TS-A6966R speakers.
