I've been researching 6X9 speakers that will fit in the front doors of my 2018 Big Horn. Could you verify that it is indeed the Pioneer TS-A6976R (seventy-six R) that fits in your Ram 1500 and it's not the TS-A6966R (sixty-six R)?

I ask because according to the Pioneer owner's manual, here are the speaker depths:

TS-A6966R 2 3/4"
TS-A6976R 3 1/4"

I've seen a couple of posts where the available speaker depth is 2 1/2" or 2 3/4" but never over 3". Although, here's one that shows it being 3".

Therefore, I think I should buy the TS-A6966R speakers.

I believe it was the 76R

curious? isnt anyone worried about changing the impedance when upgrading from the factory speaker??
i have 2018 sport. the dash speakers are 3.5in, at 8 ohms. all after market speakers seem to be 4ohms, i have the non alpine 8.4 with nav, i dont want to risk any damage to the head unit, to replace that head unit would be very expensive. i would like to just upgrade the 6 speakers.

just add an resistor to your 3.5 in speakers to get to 4 ohm for the radio feed.
WOrks great...better yet, go get a set of polk Audio DB351 for the front dash and really impress yourself, Cheap too.

WHy has no one mentioned the Alpine R series 6X9?

I got the Alpine SPR-69's. They fit perfectly and go louder than I will ever need.
