Live in Canada, rust developing on the two edges on my 2019 rear bumper

I live in Canada and I have rust developing on the 2 rear edges on my 2019 SLT(had it for 2 months) and Dealership says FCA won't cover it as rust should not be happening on chrome bumpers. What advice do you guys have to talk to FCA and they refuse to cover it what do i do to deal with it. These pictures were taken 6 days after driving it off the lot.

Isn't that exactly why they SHOULD cover it? A-holes. Try a reputable dealer. They clearly are not.

I’d find a different dealer too. One I work with replaced a (painted) bumper once, repainted it free a few years later, replaced a quarter panel for just the cost of parts a few months after the warranty expired...

They’re in Guelph, Ontario which doesn’t help you much though.

The dealership is only doing what FCA has told them. I'm now looking to know what i can say to FCA in regards to getting them to cover the bumper because rust shouldn't be happening within a week of owning it

Is there a dent, damage or stone chip? Obviously not, so this would not seem too apply. They are trying to blow you off.

Very surprised this is not covered on a brand new truck warranty. Each November I use a product called ‘Fluid Film’. Spray the backside of my chrome bumpers and the undercarriage. Prevents and will stop rust from spreading. I get 3 cans on Amazon for approx $26. Good luck!

Chrome polish! I had a similar problem on my 2015 RAM. Rust never came back although you might want to re-polish it occasionally. I realize its a fairly new truck but chrome will rust sometimes sooner rather than later.

Mine was like that as well only 3 months after I got it last year but didn’t look as bad as yours. I wiped it with rust remover and been ok since.

My step-father's 2014 went through 3 rear bumpers in the first 6 months he had it. They replaced them each time rust showed up no problem. He did tell them if the 3rd set rusted then they were putting painted ones on. The last set lasted until he traded it in in 2017.

Try a different dealer. That is ridiculous. He got no pushback at all.

I had some odd rust staining on my 2017, polished it off and 2 winters later it hasn’t come back. I’m thinking it was residue sitting on top of the surface.

sucks though, my antenna is rusting brutally though.
