I have found a 2025 Ford King Ranch with all of the options. I would prefer to have a Ram but may make the move back to the F150.

Also a sexy truck. Won't ride quite as nice, but also less likely to have the teething issues going on with the current Ram electrical systems. That said, I'm pretty sure Ford recommends premium with the ecoboost when towing or otherwise working it harder but 87 is fine for mundane use.

You are correct. I have two 3.5 F150's. I only use 93 octane when towing. Heck even when I had a 2.7 or 5.0 I used 93 octane to tow. I didn't tow with the Ram, but 93 octane would have gone in it at least a tank full before I knew I was going to tow.

The 3.5 engine really does pretty good on 87 for just driving around, just as good as the 3.0 SST I had in my Ram.

The electronics in the Ram is the reason I got rid of it. The engine and tranny seemed solid.

Absolutely, If you are buying an $85K car and butt puckering about fuel cost you need to tune it down, you freaking knew that going in.

This is making my head hurt.
Tosses Fran an Excedrin. Easy there big guy. It’ll be okay. Must have been a rough Tuesday for you.

Actually, it doesn't matter how much you spend spend on a car or which grade of fuel you use. People have and will always complain about the cost of it. ;)

Jumping in a bit late on this one…. but I doubt if Stellantis spends any time worrying about who goes traipsing-about in places that 89 fuel is inconvenient or whether or not an SO or HO engine is significantly important for those locales.

Farmer Fran, I know I made your head hurt so I just want you to know that I am taken care of. Ordered a truck with all the things I needed and wanted, and it will run on regular gas.
