Hiya all,
Newbie here… we have a 2020 Ram Warlock quad cab 1500 hemi. My husband’s intent is to install either a level or lift kit. We have attempted a leveling kit, which didn’t appear to fit properly. Then we bought a rough country 3” bolt on lift with spacers. Didn’t fit. So we ditched the factory struts and bought a pair of 4600 bilsteins. We took the factory perches and springs, and went through 3 sets of spring compressors before we thought we finally did it. Attempted to install the mf and it was too long- didn’t fit. So. We decided on a rough country 3” loaded strut pair. Got the one assembly in place. However, all the components were rubbing together as if it was too long, or you guessed it- didn’t fit.
I’m no mechanic, but after doing extensive research and scouring youtube videos somewhat close to our situation where it takes 20 minutes at most to do the install- I’m totally missing something here. And I have a feeling it’s going to be an, “OH DUH” something. Please help. Thank you in advance- much appreciated!

Is he buying parts for a 2020 Ram? Because the 2020 Warlock is a 4th gen truck which I'm assuming you figured out by posting here in the correct forum. Suspension parts and such will be best found by searching for a 2018 truck as that's the last year of only the 4th gen Ram.

Hi, thanks for the response. Yes, we are aware that it is mostly a 4th gen body style and he orders 2009-2018 parts accordingly. However- unlike the 4th gen Rams, Warlock suspension comes with a 1” factory lift, similar to the Rebel… could this 1” factory lift be a contributing factor to our issues?

This a pretty decent video on the Bilstein 5100 install. Shouldn't be an issue to get the level done with these. I was thinking about doing this when I had my half ton, but decided against it because of towing a camper.

Make sure to put the washer in the correct position when installing the shock. That was one of the big things to remember.

Did you install the spring cups upsidedown on the bilstiens? It's a ***** when you do because you have to over compress the spring to get it to bolt back together. When you do it seems like the strut is too long or overly stiff. Ask me how I know.
