1800 Miles on the truck, and just started getting a loud clicking noise everytime I hit the brake pedal.

So I get my head under there and there is a little switch with a black knob on it that every time you hit your brake pedal, this knob comes out of the switch and that is what tells your brake lights to come on.

Every time the knob pops out, it lets off a loud click. Call the dealer and they don't have one in stock and they won't let them replace it without a Engineer approval.

So I have to take in tomorrow so they can verify the noise, then once they verify call the engineer, then they can order the part.

So two trips just to get one brake switch replaced. Geez!!

Also gonna have them check the exhaust leak too.

Issues at 1800 miles ....Unreal. :(

sorry to hear you keep having troubles.

also i know this is not what you want to hear, but things can go wrong with any manufacture, and that is what the warranty is for.

Well I am being told now, they have to talk to Chrysler Engineering. There are no TSB's on this. Don't show a part number for the switch. Saying they may have to replace the whole steering column.

They also said the ticking noise I hear from engine compartment, driver side is normal for the 4.7.

They also performed an O2 sensor PCM upgrade.

ON a positive note, after my alignment, when I put into 4HI, which I just tried today, I have no vibration at all. Which is great!

I feel your pain, my seats creaked like an old rocking chair the 1st week I had mine. I sprayed lithium grease on the tracks and hinge and all is good now. My brake pedal also squeeks like an old truck, sprayed them today and fixed that. These trucks seem to need alot of lubrication that wasnt provided during assembly, my seat tracks were bone dry.

My brake switch clicks too, must be a spring inside or something.

Only clicking like that I hear is the unlock part that lets you take it out of park when you hit the brakes. But that isn't a nuisance to me.

Which dealership did you go to? Landmark on Noland Rd. in Independence always treated my aunt and uncle well!

Hey do you know how much this part cost? I am pretty sure I have exact same noise and it is pretty annoying.

Just for the record, my daily driver is a 2011 Ford Crown Vic and it has the same noise when I hit the brake. It's the switch that lets you take it out of park when you apply the brake.

As was said earlier, one can have problems with any vehicle.

Just got fixed under warranty it was a switch interlock mechanism that was replaced. Part # 5057506-AD.....And no it did not only happen when I was taking it out of park. It happened constantly every time I hit the brakes. Sorry no cost on the part, cuz on warranty my service invoice says $0.

Oh and thanks for the update, that every car can have problems. You just don't want to have them, when the vehicle has under 2000 miles.

Funny I have had 14 Mustangs all purchased brand new and beat the **** out of every single one of them and only once had to have any of them in for warranty. And that was simply for a failed alternator bearing.

Trust me the noise I was hearing was a nuisance. It was a PITA!!

No that is where I bought the truck and I will never go back to them ever! They don't give you a loaner vehicle when you buy from them, they won't shuttle you home and basically you are their prisoner for warranty work.

A week after I bought the truck I began to get a strong vibration in the front and it turns out I had two bad tires with runout.

So I decided to change my oil at the same time, at 400 miles just to get the assembly lube out of it.

I sat at that dealership for 7.5 hours for a two tire replacement and oil change.

I have been to Gladstone Dodge twice, and they have had me in and out both times in under an hour and a half.

Plus they have donuts and coffee. Landmark has vending machines.

That must be typical of dealerships named Landmark.

Landmark DCJR in Morrow, GA.
Yea they suck too. The svc mgr told me my truck is no longer welcome there for any service. And I bought it there.

But on he flip side Ed Voyles in kennesaw ga is good. Treats customers with respect and when I want a new truck I will buy from Ed Voyles.

Must be! I got into it with the owner of this one, over some lies my salesman told me and their fuzzy math. The manufacturers wonder why they are hurting and IMO it is because of the dealer networks....

They've forgotten without the customer they go under.

They've gotten "too corporate" and less personal.
