sounds like push rods to me, number one bad item after cam/lifter install. Mild case, I would expect it to get worse if it is rods, it happens when the fall out of cup. Might not be, just a guess, sounds more like it when cold then warm.

Sounds like an exhaust leak. Seems worse than the exhaust manifold leak that I had on my truck... but you may have the same underlying problem.

The exhaust leak on my truck sounded very much like valvetrain noise to me, as well. What the dealership found were four broken exhaust manifold bolts... and warped exhaust manifolds.
