After 1 year of ownership I have nothing but praises for the looks, performance, luxury features, and ride qualities of my 2019 Laramie Hemi. Just completed a 2500 mi road trip and averaged 17.5 mpg using mid grade gas. The ride was smooth and quiet the whole way.

The U Connect electronics are driving me bat sh*t crazy. After driving the truck (daily) for over a year, every time I start it in the morning the radio is tuned to a different station. It is NEVER on the station I left it on the night before...okay, minor problem right? Also, the heated steering wheel, as well as the heated seats keep turning themselves on. Now, the damn speedometer automatically changes itself from mph to km. This is becoming annoying because every time it happens I have to pull over and drag the damn owners manual out of the glove box and read for 5 minutes on how to turn these things off. To some of us who did not grow up with computers it is not obvious how to do this. I have no need for a 12" screen...anybody want to trade?

Maybe I can find a good custom shop that will tear out this garbage and install a vintage 80's dash set complete with am/fm radio and tape deck (or 8 track). It just bothers me that many of us did not ask for these electronic features but in order to drive a new vehicle we are forced to pay for them...even when they don't function properly. Thanx for listening to my rant.

I have the 8.4 screen, and all good. Unfortunately, THAT monster 12" screen has been known for all sorts of issues, and Gonna take a dealer trip to fix (but U have to have a good dealership, just saying)..

I've heard many complaints about the 12" screen. I hope you get this figured out. It would drive me crazy also.

on the 8.4 screen all you have to do to switch between KM amd MPH is to touch the OK button while either is displayed in between the tach and speedo. Have you checked the automatic temperature setting on your seat and steering wheel settings. They come on automatic when it is below your set temperature.

I have had my Laramie for less than a year. We took it on a 3500 mile trip over a 2 week period. Like the OP, it was a very smooth, quiet ride. We got about 19 mpg. We have the smaller screen and have not had any trouble. I hope you are able to get those issues resolved. If you're able to get your electronics replaced with the AM FM 8 track, please take pictures and post. :)

12 inch and no problems.. but mine was built in may of this year. I know that the 12inch is more expensive in the 2020s, dont know if something changed. I love mine.20191011_133124.jpg

I too have had my laramie a year now and all is well but I am mostly anti tech on stuff like trucks. too great a chance for stuff to crap out or leave you by the side of the road because of some minor sensor input rather than an actual broken or easily replaceable part. I'm old school and remember the days when you could get a new alternator at chief for 39.95$ and be back on the road in an hour and not have to have the dealer hook you up to the mothership and get some kind of blessing before you can go. IMHO

Hi beepster,

I'm sorry to hear of the trouble you are experiencing with your truck. I kindly recommend addressing these concerns with your dealer, and if you do so, please know that I would be happy to escalate a case on your behalf to connect you with a case specialist for an additional layer of support while working with your dealer.

IIRC the keyfob can be linked to radio stations, seat settings, etc.

I would make sure you are using the same exact fob each time and go through the process of linking your fob to your exact settings. its possible they are resetting because of different fob, etc.

I was having the same concerns and the poster writing about the key fobs is exactly what I found was wrong. I would save a radio station and next time I drove the truck, it had disappeared. Now, anytime I change my radio presets or seat settings I save this to my profile and it ended the issue.
