Lower door panel replacement

I am wanting to repair the bottom of both my door and the ex. Cab door. Has anyone used the lower replacement panels? I have never attempted body work before. I did buy a mug welder out of a body shop that has all the adjustments for stitch welding and spot welding. Has anyone attempted doing this before?
