hey guys,
Just curious if anyone has lowered a 4wd (preferably RC?SB....lol)?

I know the norm is raise 4wd and lower 2wd but I have been debating getting a 4wd because I live in the NE and lowering it a little but (not slamming it).....snow sucks! :flipthebird: lol

Edit: fwiw, I did a search and didn't see anything...

Id lower my 4x4 if I wanted to spend 1500 on a kit. The rear is easy and cheap, the front tacks on a bunch of $.

Id even do the install myself, I just don't wanna plunk the cash. Plus, add an alignment once finished on top of it.

Truck looks good as is, would it look better....YES. But 1500 in the bank looks good to seeing as im very impulsive and waste lots of dough! (wasted ENOUGH on truck already, saving for blown transmission as well)

Ground Force sells a 2/3 lowering kit for about $800. This is what I am running on my 2011 Crew Cab 4wd. Here are a few pictures of mine with Cooper LTZ 305/50/20 tires...

How do you like the ride of yours with the Ground Force kit? I'm looking at doing the same thing but don't want to sacrifice the nice ride. Did you do the install yourself?

The ride is actually nicer than I expected it to be. Install is not bad at all, but you will need a spring compressor to remove the front coils and be sure to get an alignment done afterwards. Overall, I am very happy with the stance, ride comfort, and quality of the parts in this kit.

Thanks for the input. My other option is to get a set of McGaughy's 2" rear drop springs from you to make sure it's the look I want before I drop the $800 on the Ground Force 2/3 kit.

I started out with the McGaughy's 2" rear coils myself. The picture below is with the 2" rear drop and Nitto 305/55/20 tires...

I love the look of just the 2" rear drop coils. Makes just enough of a difference I think.

I'm running the GF 2/3 kit. It is a bit $$ but IMO its worth every penny!
The ride is great considering. Handles like a dream. Super easy instal too. I did it in a few hours with hand tools. But yes you will need a spring compressor.

To my knowledge I'm the lowest 4wd out there right now that's maintained the 4wd functionality. I'm down 4.5/6.5 at last measurement, but for anyone looking to go just 2/4 then it's really straight forward, any lower and you're looking at mucho $$ to get it working properly. If you start with just the 2" springs then you can just cut those down to the height you want and order just the front springs directly from Ground Force, saves you the time selling them, and about $300, but the full kit does give you the panhard relocation bracket which is really a must.

Have a 2" drop on my RCSB and love it, rides great and just gives it a subtle look that no other ram around here has.

I gotta ask... looking at the Ground force kit it looks like 4 coil spring, shocks, end links and various other parts but would a 2wd drive kit work on a 4wd? what is the main difference?
