I have 2020 3500. Door sticker says 60 front and 80 back for your pressure.

Can I lower my rear tire pressure to 60 for a slightly more comfortable ride for daily driving? For towing the trailer I would put it back at 80.

Thank you.

Of course you can ... just be aware that you might have those rear tires wear differently than the front ones ...

I have 1500 but I do have my rear tires set at 35 in the rear and 39 up front ...

You can do 60 and see how it feels for you, no harm in that .... try and and give it a go see how it feels

Some people run less than 60 in the rears while unloaded.

About the only difference will be the centers of the tires won't wear as much. 80 psi while unloaded is way over inflated for the weight on them.
Back when I drove a 1 ton service van, I usually kept the rear tires at 70 psi instead of 80 and the van would easily tip the scales at 9500 lbs. I'd get at least 80K miles on the tires, no strange wear.

IMO running 60 PSI in the rear tires when empty is okay (assuming SRW with 18" tires) the rear truck weight is less then front end weight with the 6.7, I ran the same psi in my 2006 CTD for 15 years with no abnormal tire wear, just remember to air up when towing...

Yeep, that's why I said they might wear differently ...

My company truck when I was at dish network, well one of them, was a 3500, I always ran the rear toyos on that one at 55 and front at 45 and it drove very nice ...

My Chevy Express 3500 for my detailing business with the 300 gallon water tank, I have it at 65 if I am not mistaken and it handles very good ... I might go up to 70 in the winter though but for a Ram 3500 I wouldn't hesitate to drop the rears to 60 at all .... that's why I also asked what size and tires does he have as that can also make a difference as to what psi he should go with at the minimum ....

What size and tires do you have?
They are the stock Transforce A/T 20" tires that come on them. I can't remember for sure, but think they are 285/60/20. I will double check when it is light out and I can see them. The way I look at it is the rear of the 2500 doesn't weigh a whole lot more than a 1500 does, so when I'm not towing anything I think 40 or so is fine.

Oh yeah, it will be more than fine, it will keep your rear end more planted as well ... Like I said, I have my rears at 35 psi lol and I love how it handles ..so even at 40 psi you should be good man ... try it , give it a go and see how it handles and keep an eye on the tires .... you can even do the chalk test and see how low of a psi you can get before it looks too uneven .....

I use the Toyo guide I posted above and I have weighed my truck and I could actually run less psi than this but I like how it rides and handles where I have them and I get perfect wear.

A question is at what point does your low pressure warning come on, I'm not
sure about mine but some vehicles it comes on if you are below 40 psi.

Well I changed the thresholds on my truck using ALFAOBD ... but before that I think the warning popped up at 39 psi if I'm not mistaken

I lowered the threshold with AEV procal so down to about 25psi before it kicks on

Based on retired's weight slip of 3120 you could do down to the 2070@35psi which would give you 4140 GAWR. You could probably go lower but the tables don't list below 35psi so you would be guessing at actual load rating.

My low-pressure warning comes on about 75. I would lower the PSI more if I could do it without the warning.
