lpg conversion feasibility

saw a thing on line about some people are converting diesel to lpg/ng
how feasible is this, and how cost effective is the system?
also, once its converted, is it a hard conversion, or can you switch fuels?
i'm more curious than anything about this conversion

Cummins has been working on a multi-fuel engine, so it is possible. It may be even feasible to retroactively convert an engine to another fuel source, but I highly doubt it is financially wise to do so. Liquified, propane and natural gas can fluctuate greatly in cost and can get very expensive. Also, they have less energy per unit then gasoline and I believe also diesel fuel so you will need more of the lpg/ng to produce the same travel range and/or work output of your engine.

i've seen some redneck adapter kits with pieces and parts, and a propane tank in the bed nailed to 2x4's - never seen a nicely done kit out though
