lugging when towing

so im having an issue with my 2015 ram 3500 6.7 with mm3 tuner, when im towing my travel trailer up a hill my truck lugs and loses power in abut 5/6 gear and then i have to drop down a gear to get my rpm about 1500 till it stops is this normal for diesels ? im considering taking it in to the dealer

No, it isn't normal. I pull a 15K fiver with a Cummins/68RFE using tow/haul mode and never experienced lugging.

I would think it has something to do with the tune. The 68RFE transmission can be tuned but the Aisin can not.

Try a different tune and see if that helps. Also if you do take it to the dealer I would put it back to stock for sure.

as stated above, try running the stock tune. Even in stock trim the CTD shouldn't have any issues with even a 15K load.

What gears? In my past life with the Jeep, had 3.73s and it would lug the #1900 popup. Went to 4.56s and it was asking for more. I wouldn't have thought that it would made that much of a difference, but it was like night and day. I have 3.42s and hopefully soon get the 5th wheel out and see.
