Magnaflow, 14" vs 18"

i have the 14" with headers and no resonators and i have never gotten complaints on it for being to loud even in the mornings that i crank it up around 5 my neighbors never say anything

I remember when I was 21 and was able to get up at 5 every morning, lol.

My neighbor says she can hear the truck fire up at 7:30 from inside her house but that is because she is already up and aware, she said besides that she doesn't notice it.

I would say 18 if you're worried about tickin' off the neighbors. I have the 18 on mine and it's pretty darn loud. Gets louder once it's broken in too. I live in a neighborhood with alot of close houses and I'm very very glad I didn't get the 14 because I think I would have made too much of a nuisance. The 18 gives off plenty of noise for me.

I start my car with the garage shut... I do that because I like the neighbors across the street. If it were my next door neighbors, I'd probably go with straight pipes. Give them a real reason to call the cops on me!

i have the 14, and i can tell you its not obnoxious loud. It sounds real good and is not a problem cruising on the highway. I know of members that have the 18 and wish they had gotten the 14

But then there's some guys who say the 18 is perfect. Ive heard and 18 straight through, i wouldnt wanna be that loud lol

You should pose a video of your 14" soon, cause I already had the garage order an 18 for me. Idk if they have ordered already or will tomorrow. Idk if I can call and change the order still

I have the 14" with the resonators. It is not loud at all, but I guess I'm used to race cars that are actually loud.

I don't think my 14" magnaflow is loud at all. it has a nice quiet rumble, loud when WOT, and nice cruising tone. The only "Complaint" I have is at a certain low RPM it hits the right frequency I guess to resonate really badly and drones loud. But I never cruise at that RPM and only hear it for about a second at a time.

It is all personal preference, but just a note there are also longer Magnaflow's that work well without drone and still has good sound as you roll up the engine. I have a 36" that lets everyone know I'm coming.

Listen to this one with the 24", it's what made my mind up that I wanted a 24" over the other two. Like I stated above, I have my G8 for loud and fast. I just want to hear a bit of V8 without being THAT guy. lol I will say, I installed a 14 on a members truck with him and IMO it's not that loud and I HATE loud exhaust.
