I installed the magnaflow cat in my driveway on my 2014. Lots of wd40 and penetrating oil. Got it all done in about 2 hours I think.

I installed my Outlaw cat back in the driveway, took a few hours. The only difficulty I ran into was removing the OEM straight pipe that runs from the Y pipe to the muffler. It's crimped onto the Y pipe outlet & required a 2 - 3 inch relief cut from the end to get off. I used a Dremel w/ cut-off discs. I do not think it's possible to get it off w/out cutting or heating.

I haven't tried it on my Ram, but I've done several jeeps, mustangs, F-150s, and import cars in my driveway. You shouldn't have much trouble with a new truck.

edit... the internet god's demand video/sound clips.

Yup. Take the spare out. Tried to do it without doing that & wasted 45 minutes.
No need to "cut" anything. Clamps loosen up, old parts come off, new go on.
I bought the dual 5" outlet kit from MagnaFlow. Has a 22" muffler and the high flow resonator is part of middle pipe.ff0283ca1d2bcf840adb021dbe77dbb9.jpg528bc48f9e6c119a3210892b0a4f7621.jpg

Friggin' kids wouldn't know what a 9/16 box wrench is.
They'd be in the garage all day lookin' for my metric adjustable or the muffler bearing puller. :)

I got my system installed this afternoon...install went really good. The rubber hangers were a bit of a **** but other than that it was ok. I think the sound is great..not to loud bit very noticeable. All in all it went well and I'm very happy

Might be different for the 6.4 but on my 2017 5.7 single exhaust setup, the straight pipe that runs from the muffler to the y-pipe most definitely needed a relief cut on the end to remove it & it wasn't seized on, only had 5K miles on the truck when I did the upgrade. Maybe they got a little overzealous w/ the impact when hanging the factory exhaust on mine? The rest of the exhaust came off easily & no spare removal was needed.

Must be differences between the 2.

Well the truck only has 1200 kms on it so far. The tail pipe was a little tight but with some swearing it came off..haha. The muffler was a pain...I used a small one foot piece of 2x4 and my 4lb hammer again..some swearing and it magically came off aswell. I had great help though...as I was taking off my muffler my 4 and a half year old was putting his dinkies and crushed stone down the tail pipe of my exhaust I was removing...lol. I looked out from underneath the truck and I just smiled..swore a few more times in my head and said thanks buddy..and he said your welcome daddy.

When my 29 yr old son was 2, I was doing trans service on my '76 Blazer in my driveway. He kept coming under it to see daddy. I drove a pipe into the ground and tied a rope around his waist. Gave him about a 40' diameter circle to play in but not able to get near the driveway. Worked great! My sister-in-law saw it and flipped out! BONUS, LOL!!
